Memories - Once upon a time

  25 June 2023 Watching the progress of Tengah new town over the years has been interesting. From an empty plot of forested land, the grassy plains that followed have now given way to a tangled mess of cranes, HDB flats and soil. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, the apartment complexes will soon bring new life into the area with the first residents set to receive their keys in the 3rd quarter of the year. Alas, the apartment blocks are unable to escape from the copy, paste, repeat nature of expedited construction using pre-fabricated units.

  6 December 2003 This used to be the view from the bedroom that I shared with my younger brother for a few years. Back then, there used to be a provision shop in the block that was being demolished on the left called Jumbo. With the SERS development in progress, they shifted from being a provision shop business to running a food house that was newly built in Dover Ville precinct just around the corner. These days, nearly 20 years on, I'm not sure if they are still running the said food house although I'm pretty sure that the place still exists.

2 April 2010  Back in the day, Marina Bay Sands (MBS) & Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) were known as Integrated Resorts (IRs). The individual names had not taken off yet as the 2 resorts were rather new. Here are a few images of back when the MBS was brand new and not quite completed yet.
